Quick DIY Refurb shelf/stand project

I had gotten this shelf awhile ago for free but really haven’t used it because I didn’t like the grey color.

So I decided to use these two handy dandy products from Home Depot to jazz it up a little. First I primed it, let it sit overnight. Then the next day I took it out in my garage and went to town with the Lacquer. Let me tell ya, this stuff is POTENT as heck so make sure your in a well ventilated area if your gonna use it.

I probably should have sanded this project a little first, as I think I might have been able to get some minor flaws out of it but…. Next time I guess. Overall I am happy how it turned out and it will be very useful in my bathroom. Quick, easy and it looks so much better in black.

It’s amazing how you can transform things in to something different in such a short time and with little effort. I LOVE IT!

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Tutorial for Gold Mason Jar Home Decor…

Good Afternoon – I attempted to upload this last night but it was being very stubborn. Anyways, hope everyone is having a good Monday (as good as the can get). I stayed inside as much as I could this weekend because I am like a bear and prefer to hybernate as much as possible in these frigid temps. I decided to do a little Sunday Funday project and here is how it turned out. I’m happy with it 🙂

Let’s start!

Gather the following supplies:

1)Quart sized Mason Jar

2)Newspaper to cover work space and fill your bottle so the paint won’t get inside

3)A net of some sort – believe it or not, and I KNEW it would come in handy one day – I used the net that came off my pot roast for the dinner the other night.

4) Gold Spraypaint. I bought this at Home Depot and works like a charm.

Spray once evenly all over – wait about 15 minutes to a half hour and repeat.

Wait a good hour, remove the newspaper, remove the netting and TADA – you are finished!!
I am not sure which way I will use it, as a vase or candle holder, but both ways look pretty darn cute to me. Maybe I will have to make another one and do both.

Finished

And there you have it, hope you liked my first tutorial on my blog. Have a great night.
